Doing something crazy

My ex-boss wrote - about his desire to rekindle his passion for cycling although he is about 20 years older now and is also about 1.3 times in size now.

My comment to him was ...I was telling my sis recently..i am such a hopeless being. I realised long ago that i have not really done 'anythg' in my life AND to make it worse..I am not doing anything to rectify it...e.g. I don't really kow how to swim, i daren't dive, i don't rock climb, I can't really cycle, i don't travel much...i have not back paked before...and the list goes on and on..

Well..It's all about doing somethng crazy isn't it...does going for Tai Chi count?

Besides Gong Hei Fatt Choy

Gong Xi Fa Cai (Mandarin), Gong Hei Fatt Choy (Cantonese) - these are the most commonly heard in conversation over Chinese New Year. Besides these, people like me will be 'bombarded' with other very common questions or remarks like these:

  • Wah...getting prettier and prettier but how come no boyfriend ah?
  • Next year bring your boyfriend ah?
  • Still take ang pao ah? Don't take anymore lor...must find a husband quickly
  • What kind of man are you waiting for ah? I have some friends to introduce to you, want?

...and it goes on and on...

Gong Xi Fa Cai

It's no big deal actually...some people choose not to make it a big deal. Some people think it's a hassle. What the heck. It's a once a year thing! I'd like to believe it's a way to appreciate and enjoy life. If not because of CNY, the estimated 1.369- 1.374 billion total Chinese people in the world will not be in such a joyous mood right now.

My sympathies to the poorer families who barely have enough to survive and my sympathies too to those stranded in the cities of China not being able to celebrate this once a year occassion with their families in the home town. Hope things will be better real soon.

I am in a rather good mood today. Was psyching myself up to go to the gym to work off some calories before the CNY eating sprees but...looks like the urge is fading away. Even the weather is celebrating. Bright & sunny evening. May be I shall head home to take the doggie out for a walk? It is also a form of exercise right?

For those who are curious about the progress of my house cleaning - well, I am not done yet! Tomorrow is the last day to do so - I will just do my best to make all visible areas 'seem clean'.

Gong Xi Fa Cai folks!

House

Don't you think an original house like this looks so much better...
..as opposed to after installation of grilles & gates..apparently for safety reasons..
and..most of the time house owners will end up with bunch of keys like these!
