Buy Buy Buy

*Ahem*

I need to justify my spending.

SUPPLEMENTS

The above are supplements!  n fact I've run out of some of these supplements for some time...time to replenish.   For the benefit of KT who can't view photos via her reader now..the above are various supplement items I bougth from Eu Yan Sang.  All are considered 'must take' for women...especially 'middle age' ones -.-

Replenishes Blood, invigorates Vital Energy, regulates symptoms relating to menstrual ailments, relieves menstrual pain and provides the nourishment necessary for mothers after childbirth. Regular consumption can help strengthen the body, improve the complexion and promote youthfulness.

It replenishes the energy and Blood, strengthens body functions and restores physical strength. It is commonly used to alleviate fatigue, insufficient sleep, weakness caused by illness, and poor health after childbirth.

Invigorates the Spleen, replenishes your Vital Energy, promotes Blood flow and regulates stomach functions.

Ahem..and THIS.

Nice or not?

I like blue.
It's on 50% discount..
I've been eyeing it for a very long time,
It's 50% off!
Only one size left....SMALL...looks good on me..but a bit tight ..it will be alright if I wear a sleevelee top or a bra top..not t-shirt underneath.
(oh  KT : it's a wind breaker..sort of)
Or..may be I should work out everyday..to make myself smaller :D

Ahem...

牛王 Beef Noodles @ Pudu

After all the heavy feasting on eve and actual Christmas day..one don't really feel like eating anyting.  I thought dim sum should be a good choice..not so heavy yet delicious..plus I've been craving for for Jin Xuan's dim sum for some time. But...

before I could make a suggestion..Dad says " you want to eat beef noodles? I take you to a nice one in Pudu"

Hmm..when your 70+ yr old father says something like that..means he wishes to eat Beef Noodles.

I tried my luck ..."but..I feel like eating dim sum" and gave him a puppy look.  Of course..that wouldn't work on him.

Argh..beef noodles!! when my all the turkey etc etc were still swimming in my digestive system.

The beef noodles turned out to be mighty good! Like it!

Drive along Jalan Pudu (from Pudu jail). Turn left at Caltex. You will see the beef noodles stall/shack on your left).

Cholesterol Free!

Finally..
Previous years....every annual medical screen showed that abnormal cholestrol level.  Was particularly disappointed last year..cos I started taking oats and / or brown rice powder for breakfast and was also actively going to the gym.  See previous year entry HERE

Ta da...!  This year all readings looks perfect :D

Looks like the daily spoonful of oats & brown rice powder in my morning drink works after all....ya,.after like 2 years.

And the diligent trips to the gym seems to work after all...ya..after two years.

Conclusion..don't give up easily lor.

Let's see what will next year's reading be like ;

I've been 'hamster-sitting'

While my bro and family were away I had to hamster-sit.
Poor lil fella...it must have been so lonely and sad being alone for so long at the backyard..it was actually freaking out when I tried to play with it on Friday.  Took me a while to calm it down.

Today it was quite happy to see me.

so happy crawling all over me.

What happens if I give it a very hard squeeze?

nahh.. i don't hv the heart to do that.

I started having lilttle pets like this one. when I was very little...white mice, guinea pigs..that was when we were living in a flat and we can't have cats n dogs.

Christmas Eve 2009

Was so tired the night before that I slept around 11pm..may be even earlier.  Guess what..I was awake at 6am! @#$%*&  Tossed and turned but still couldn't get back to sleep...so I got up, log on, surfed for a while...then went back to bed and fell asleep again ..lol.

Only woke up three hours later..dazed.

Left the house around 10.30 ..headed to the tyre shop to get a second opinion about my car.  Will talk about that in next post..if I feel like it.

Had brunch around 11.30 at Bayu Timor, TamanMegah.  Just a quiet simple breakfast with a scone, a chicken pie and Latte..alone.

But it was mistake.  I should have drove straight to Mid Valley as I need to meet up with Chris to go 'ingredients' shopping for our Christmas Eve masak-masak dinner.

I arrived at MV around 1pm....and as usual..the road was congested.

Wrong decision..should have drove straight to MV..and have my brunch there.  Shucks!  I didn't even bother going into the car park..as the indicators showed that all parking zones were FULL.

I went to Bangsar Village instead.  Relatively..small..but I don't care..bettter than getting all stressed up in MV car parks.

I only needed a place to chill fro a while waiting for Chris to get off work.

Bangsar Village's not too bad..small and easy to browse.  In less than 10 mins after stepping into it, I spotted some boots that I liked at Aldo.  I never saw anything I liked in Aldo..today must be a special day ..hehe..unfortunately.they didn't have the right size :(

Saw the above at the Ted Baker store.  Thought the deco was so cute...although I didn't understand what has Fitness gotta do with ted Baker..until I saw the tag line when I was loading this photo ~ "Be a lean present giving machine"..haha.

Chris arrived at around 3pm.  I had a quick lunch at Chatterbox..before heading to Village Grocer to hunt for our ingredients.

Actually..we didn't have to buy much ..Chris' wonderful mom had gotten almost all.99% of the steamboat ingredients :D...so we decided to make tom yam for fun.

Raw Ingredients.

Ta daa...home made tom yam from natural ingredients.  No paste.

Of coure the hero of the day is the steamboat courtesy of Chris' mom.  Yummy!

All gone.

What do these look like to you?

Siew mai anyone?

A Day to Christmas

Yesterday was Winter Solstice.  It should be a big day for all Chinese families.  It's almost mandatory that everyone should have dinner together for most families especially those with children staying away from home.  But..ever since mom's passing..we don't really celebrate festives..apart from having CNY eve dinner.  Dad..thinks very strongly that..if one has a heart..don't have to wait for festivities to meet..and most importantly..he thinks it is so silly to rush out and buy over priced food and infredients just to have an elaborate meal on such ocassion.  He always thinks that..other days can also eat elaborately..at a cheaper price.

I hope he really meant what he said.  Cos this year..I wasn't home for dinner.  I went to the gym for..RPM launch. *guilty*. It's the first time that I could make it to a RPM launch...but unfortunately the latest release for this Q4 is a letdown, for me at least.  Really..no excitement..don't think I like any of the songs..hmm..don' think I will step into any class in the next a week or so..until they start mixing songs again :P

The BC launch on the other hand was awesome!  Full of energy..songs wise..don't have one that I'm crazy over..(yet)..but I'm sure..I wil have at least one soon.  Can't wait for the next class.  Not too soon though...my body's totally wrecked now.  Pain and stiff every single muscle.  These days I get more tired and more aches after a work out..either..I worked my muscles more now..or body's sending out complain signals to me.  Hmm...

Anyway..no work out for at least two days.  Will definitely be home early today..darn tired now.  Felt like I have not properly rested since the weekend...in fact since last Thursday/ Friday.  I can't even remember what I did?

It's Christmas! ho  ho ho...office's closing tomorrow.  Just found out today...still have not decided what I'll be doing tomorrow.  Dinner will be with Chris n Mich..either setup our own steamboat or we go shabu-shabu outside..most likely steamboat.  It was quite funny..when Chris asked us to choose between steamboat or shabu-shabu..I didn't answer until 12 hours later..cos my initial reaction was "Isn't Shabu-Shabu and steamboat the same thing" >>do you think so??

So..what time shall I wake up tomorrow morning?  What shall I do tomorrow morning?

Anyway..this season..oh well not jus this season..should be all the time... remember to be thankful and grateful of all that we have at this moment.  Life is full of ups and downs.it's just way of life.  There can't be good all the time.  God gives us challenges to make us stronger..unfortunately..that's the way it is.

Why the sudden change in mood?

Cos ..as I'm writing this..I have two friends going through one of their tougher moments in Life right now.

Stay strong pals!

I'm a Plat Card Holder :D

Was suppose to post this last night..home streamyx was down Again! #$@..
This was written yesterday evening..hence doesn't reflect my current state of mind..whta's my current state of mind?..somewhat fustrated and totally disatisfied...at Nissan hoping to get some solution or rather explantion..oh..just something anything intelligent to soothe my ego.  Of course..I didn't get any.  Will write abou tthat when I get my thoughts in order -.-

Back in June this year I declined a Nissan Advantage Visa ....blogged about it too (co-branded credit cards)..this is parts of what I said:

Personally, as a consumer, I am against co-branded card ...I mean..come on..put yourself in our shoes..how many cards do they want us to carry in our wallet?

...after repeatedly spending loads on servicing and stuff...I finally gave in.  I agreed to apply for a Nissan Advantage Visa.  After all...it's not smart to reject money.

Key attraction of the card:

10% off Nissan car service

15% off Nissan genuine car parts at Nissan Authorised Service Centres

And ..to counter the recent RM50 per card per annum additional charge..this card latest promise is a RM50 advance upon first swipe.  Ok what..why not?

I get discounts on my car parts and services.
I get RM50 advance to compensate on the possible new government rule.
And..most importantly it's FREE!

Guess what, the card arrived today with another surprise in the bundle.

I'm a platinum card holder :-D
Relatively low credit limit lar..but who cares..it feels good to have a platinum card in the pocket..haha.

What's the catch?

No catch as far as I know..

..It's free for two (or three) years at least
..It's already pre-loaded with RM100 advance for me to spend
(to compensate for the RM50 thingy I thk)

I'm a sucker..I know.

I think I will cancel the card from that Largest Bank since it seems so Reluctant of them to send over my replacement cards...it's been ..a month!

First they say..it will be sent to my home.
Then..I received a letter that says it is ready for collection at the Branch.

When I called to ask for them to re-send to my Home..they say..they can't do so if I'm not at home..as I have to receive it personally.  Then I asked if they can send it to my office?  Answer was No..but I forgot what was the reason.

Finally..they agreed to send it another branch nearer to me..so that it is easier for me to collect.

It's been a month!  No sign of card.

Tq very much..you can keep the card.

I'm all for SCB now.  The cards didn't reach me via Poslaju...I called to re-direct the card to my office.  Cards arrived to the office within a few days..at most 5 working days.

End.

This Christmas..

I did quite a few things differently this Christmas.
Or..should it be..I did a few different things this Christmas.

It started with..me going out gift shopping as early as end week of November.

And, just yesterday I decided to do my part in contributing some gifts to an orphanage..And I didn't just get for one..I managed to get gifts for 17 children!  Well..ok...I had support from some close friends..tq.

And..WRAPPING!

I've always hate wrapping. I never liked handy work.  In school days...I was always close to tears when it comes to those stupid handicraft assignments.  Hated them.

This Christmas..I wrapped so many presents!

I'm sure you can tell which ones were done by me.  The ugly ones of course..sorry kiddoes...those who get the red ones :D...you have to make do with an ugly wrapped present.

Normally.I wil make sure I buy from places that provide wrapping service but since I bought so much this time..some places did not offer wrapping and some places had too long a queue..we couldn't wait.

Ta da..!  I even learnt how to make a paper bag just now :D What an achievement.  I took almost 2 hours to figure out how it was done you know...very difficult task for my retarded sense of creativity..told you I'm totally hopeless with handy work.  Thank God I only need two paper bags.  They are for the older gals aged 16 & 17...same gift..but ..err..dunno why one bag is smaller than the other.

Actually..if I'm asked to make another one..I'll probably need another hour to figure out all over again.

Anyway..so..that was my story...This Christmas.

All seventeen presents wrapped, tagged and ready to be delivered ;-)

Is it too early to say..MERRY CHRISTMAS?

Good Deed Indeed

Earlier this month Chris asked me so nicely for a favour...I actually thought that she needed to borrow money from me...it turned out that she wanted me to organise something for the coming NYE :D  It's indeed not an easy task.  Year in year out..we do the same stuff..bbq, steamboat..go down town watch fireworks..duh.  The most 'eventful' was the year we rented a room in one of the hotels and spent the night out..come to think of it..don't remember we had loads of fun though..too long ago to remember.  I think it was raining ..and we got wet walking all the way to KLCC to watch the fireworks. Ok ...it was quite nice and exciting watching the fireworks right before above our heads.

Anyway..fast forward to 2009 NYE..what to do what to do??

I wanted to do something very different..but not sure what.  Only had one thing in mind..but it's kind of crazy ..ermm..not exactly crazy..but ..anyway..I was thinking...instead of eating and having fun ourselves..why not share the joy with the less previlege ..what about going to an orphange..bring over some KFC, a cake, some presents..I'm sure the kids will love it.

Sounds crazy?  Anyway..I dare not raise the idea..not an easy thing to do..especially when we are not seasoned ..'care givers'.

For some reasons, however, my wish came true :)

The gym put up notices asking members to contribute gifts to about 30 children from the Sanctuary Care Centre.  The notices & announcement had been up for some weeks..but all just flew by me ...too many things in mind..may be I was only concentrating on working out :D ya rite.

It's quite common for us..or rather for me to think that..these kinds of charity drive..will have alot of support..'don't need me'.

Only yesterday..while zooming around town running my errands and not working...I had a free mind ...thnking more clearly and more focus than usual.  By evening..I decided that..I shall ride on this effort by the gym and Do My Part!

I was ambitious..I wanted to make sure I have a gift for each kid.  When I got home (it was already quite late) ..I started asking a few close friends for support.  Luckily..WK knocked some sense into me.  Buying gifts for 30 over kids..on such notice is no joke (I only have Friday to get it done).  And they are aged 3 to 17 yrs old!

By morning..me and Felicia..decided ..to go with WK's suggestion..we decided be focus and concentrate on the older aged group instead..we hypothesized that most people will prefer buying for younger kids.

Ya..we are all researchers..we tend to over-analyse things.  But I must say..it was a good decision.

1. It was darn hard shopping for 17..imagine..I would have died shopping for 30!
2. Figuring what's good and fun for 17 kids aged 10 to 17yrs old was ...no joke!

but hey...we did it!!  Thanks a million to Felicia...who not only contributed financially..but also her ideas..and her physical self in bearing with my fickle minded-ness.

Thanks to Chris, WK and Mich too for chipping in financially.

*pat pat on the shoulder* Little do..but it sure feels good.

Guess what..I went out shopping leaving behind my beloved credit cards and bank card -.- but brought along the camera and some useless loyalty cards.  Genius.

Here's a glimpse of the Christmas deco at Pavillion Mall.

And of course..with me around..it can't be all work and no food.

We were at Sakae Sushi for lunch...the above and below..tasted great espcially the crepe below.  Super super Yummy.  I thought I could remember the names....unfortunately..by now forgotten.

Above : Salmon, Mayonaise & Salmon Roe Sushi
Below : Soft Shell Crab in Crepe (highly recommended if you are into crepes) *salivating*

That's all for now.  Ta.

Fabulous Thriday

I love this new word - Thriday! :D

I had quite a fabulous day. tq.

Did I mentioned that I reserved shopping fro Friday at Pavillion?  I was wrong.
Shopping started early..much earlier. Unintended.

Well..intial plan was to take the LRT down town , have lunch and to do my temple ritual thingy but as I was about to leave the office Felicia texted me about some branded warehouse sale on the third floor of the mall..just below where I was working.

So..I went and browsed.  There were quite a lot of branded apparels..Morgan, Nike, Adidas..etc but price wasn't that low.  E.g. would you pay RM79.90 for a piece of crumpled Morgan top.  RM99.90 for a very obviously off season Nike sports jacket?  I wouldn't lor..although there's one that I somewhat liked. RM99.90 for a not so new jacket and..I don't even know if it's Original.

By the time I was done there..it was already past 1pm.  Next..as I was heading towards the main exit...ta daaa..saw that Giordano was on a 45% store wide sale. Woot!  Surely must check out la.

Within minutes I shortlisted 3 tops and a sweater/ jacket.  Nothing spectacular..it's just that 45% is a good deal.  The sweater/jacket for example..I've take a look many times...but wasn't willing to pay RM59 for such a common jacket.  Now that it's on 45% off..why not?  Also bought a polo top and a simple green v-neck top..only about 20+ bucks each.. Good buy ma..and I know I wil wear them very often.  Essentials.

By the time I'm done it was past 2pm!  Hungry and needed to pee.  Took the elevator up to put the shopping bag in the car..then went up to office block again just to pee :-P

Next - was Lunch with my Aunt at my favourite Soong Kee Beef Noodle. Yummy.
Next - to the temple.

By 4pm I was on the LRT throttling back to PJ to get my car.

My next target was to collect my new MyKad from the registration department before they close at 5pm but...hehe..as I was entering the main entrance in to the mall..where my car was parked..I saw a stall at the flea market...selling some branded sports apparel at really low price.  Apparently..from China.  Very doubtful they are Orignal...but all very well done..and not too off season. Came with original tags etc.  I found a track bottom ..and it's only RM45.  Couldn't resist la..althought at the back of my mind..I kept thinking it's not Original..but what the heck..if it's good quality..and sutis me..who cares >.<

Ok..end of story for my unplanned 'buys'.  Very happy!

By 445pm...I was officially a MyKad owner again =)))

Next target was to the gym for 645pm class.  Still had time to kill..so I went to pump petrol la, went to bank in cheques la, went for a drink la...

Was at the gym by 615pm..took my own sweet time to change.  BC class was great...but then anything would be great when you had fun shopping and completed so many tasks for the day..hehe.  Was intending to head to tai ci after BC..but it was raining wor...hmm..good excuse to skip..I hopped into a ongoing RPM class instead.  Ahh..so satisfying..to end the day and week with two of my favourite work out.  Two days in a row of rpm>bc and bc>rpm..that should be enough quota for the week.

One last finale...I got an early Christmas present from sis who just came from HK.

Ahh..what a fabulous day right?

Happy. Happy.

I've assigned myself a mission tomorrow...today I mean.
Ahem.
May be I shouldn't talk about it so soon.  Will see how it goes.

Look out for next post :)

I've got Mail

Remember I wrote about having isses with my 7 month old tyres?  I mentioned that I wrote an official complaint via the Nissan site..rite?

It's been so long right?  So long that I can't remember what date was it.
Guess what? I didn't receive any acknowledgement call nor email till today.

I decided to call on Monday Morning.

As usual. ..Malaysian company..what you expect.
First person who took my call..could barely speak English.
Then I was transferred to a person supposedly covering my area...some lady.

She didn't sound happy.  I can FEEL that she was having a bad day..and didn't welcome my call.
I might have heard a few big Sighs.

She asked some questions..quite as a matter of factly:

..what's your car no.?
..what's your contact no.?
..when did you wirte in?
..what was your complain about?
..where did you send you car for service?

Obviously..no one has read my complain ...Yet.

She promised to check on it..and will get back to me soonest possible.

Ok..soon enough..I'VE GOT MAIL!

Good day from Tan Chong – Nissan!

Thank you for taking the time to raise your feedback with us as dated 7th December 2009.

Firstly, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience we may have caused. We are now in the midst of coordinating with the relevant service centre for further investigation.

You will hear from us shortly. We thank you for your patience and have a great day.

Standard mail.
I've written quite a few of those too :P

Almost at the same time..a Chinese speaking man from the PJ service centre called me.  Asked me about my issues..bla bla bla..but said that he can't give me any solutions until he sees my car (Again).

Apparently I can drive in any mornig..and he will attend to me.

Let's see.  Stay Tuned.
By the way..I dislike complaining and complaining in this space...I prefer writing and recommending good stuff....but I have to be fair..when it's not up to standard..I have to highlight the issue as a matter of factly.

Damn..I think I've forgotten his name...was it Timmy or Jimmy?

Pandora Recovery Freeware

And I thought I can settle down to unwind after a long day out. Nope.
I just had some distressed hours desperately downloading & trying out various file softwares to recover photos I clumsily erased from the SD card.

Guess what.

As of 12.43am just now..I had successfully recovered all my photos ^.^

Thanks to Google...it was fairly easy to locate several blogs and websites that touched on the subject matter.

Thanks to this BLOG that recommended a few freewares.
It states:
Most people think that if you erase your memory card (accidentally or intentionally) that the pictures are gone forever. Most people couldn't be more wrong. Your erased pics are still there until you take more pics and overwrite them. You just can't see them, for now. Just remember not to take any more pics on that card just yet.

It was not an easy task.  I must have downloaded and tried out at least 4 different softwares.  Most worked excellently in recovering..it was amazing...but most also require a fee to purchase a code to do actual recovery.

Some did not work at all.

Turst me..it was a daunting process...downloading..and testing..time wasted in waiting for the software to search...one took as long as 2 hours..but in the end found out it's not free after all.

Persistent..pays well.
Alas..Panda Recovery did the job!  The download/ installation and recovery process was very simple too.
It took about 10 mins to search the card ..nest..all I had to do was to select the photos..and click the magic button :
RECOVER

I'm so so happy.

Now..I can show off my pictures :D

Now...I can have a peaceful sleep :)

Nite Nite.

Quinn Seremban Beef Noodles

After much highlight from KT who is married to a Seremban lad, I decided to try it out at least once...even if it means driving all the way on a congested Friday afternoon.

Boy...jam jam jam..practically the moment I leave home ..jam all the way on all roads heading to Seremban Highway.  Thankfully, the highway was quite clear...but I never like driving down south (relative to driving up north or east).  Somehow..I find drivers going down south are ...rude. And they are dangerous.

Anyway..got to Seremban safely...in about an hour.

Headed straight to Quinn Seremban Beef Noodles at: Jalan Tioman 6, Kemayan Square.
Very easy to find..head towards Seremban town after the toll...keep right and turn right at 2nd traffic light..Kemayan Square is just there...like 3 mins after the toll.

The Original & Famous Seremban Beef Noodles is actually located at the Seremban Martket, but that stall closes at 11am.   Quinn was started by the daughter of the founder stall.

Verdict??

Well..the place is very clean and cooling..cos it's air conditioned.

The meat balls are Ichiban...

But..the noodles....hmm..sorry...I have to disagree with KT and all other bloggers who gave good recommendations.

According to EatingAsia  ..this noodle dish echos the taste of those served in the founders' hometown of Haikou....they're Hainan-style, "adjusted for Malaysian taste."

Personally...it just doesn't suit my Cantonese taste bud.

First bite..itself..I tasted something funny / weird...in it.  It's starchy. Has sesame seeds. Peanuts.

And...

wth.  How in the world can salted vege blend with beef noodles..and all the the above ingrdients. Thinking back..it's like eating rojak ..with beef parts, and noodles.  Strange.

My apologies.  This is just my (and my dad who was with me) personal opinion.  There are loads of people out there who absolutely love this dish.

Well..ok...I tried it!  It was good experience.  And a good way to spend a day-off away from the city and normal routines.

Oh ya..Nescafe Shake was GOOD ^.^

Total cost of meal for two persons..RM24.00

If you are keen to try..there's a stall in Sec 17 selling almost exactly the same style of beef noodles . Click HERE for more info.  No need to go so far :-)  Try it out..and let me know if you like it.

After lunch..drove around Seremban town..to get a feel.  Dropped by the market. Had cendol - nice!

By the way..I don't think I like Seremban.  Very congested.  Not very friendly drivers.  Stressful driving condition.  The roads are so confusing that I accidentally (or rather forced) to drive into a very dark carpark (either for a bus terminal or a bnearby mall)...guess what..the cashier...insisted that I had to pay the entrance fee of RM2.10 before going out..IDIOT.

..we were back at Kemayan Square at night (after PD)...looking for food.
Dad wanted something simple.

This is termed as "char kuih-kark" at the stall..Fried Carrot Cake..actually.
RM3.50 only..by the look of it..you can tell right? that it's definitely 10 times better than KL's version.

Char Kuey Teow..RM3.00..basic ingredient. but nice.

I'm so stuffed.
Think I will just smell food at tomorrow's gathering at PPL's.
