HOT Yoga
I was really dragging my feet, half angry at myself for chickening out. Totally not in a mood to work with machines..so I decided to pay a visit to the yoga corner..since I have not done any yoga for a long time.
Hot Yoga starts in 10 minutes time! How lucky was I. I quickly took off my shoes and waited. This new gym setup is so nice - they have this whole quiet secluded area dedicated to yoga go-ers...equpped with seats, sofa benches, carpets, water cooler, shoe shelves. So comfortable.
The hot yoga room....is HOT! Whilst the exercises are not really tough...but since I have not attended any yoga classes for months...some strecthing movements were indeed challenging for me. The instructor warned that if one has high blood pressure or recently had surgery , hot yoga is not advisable. And..if anyone feels unwell during the class...do feel free to walk out and take a break. I understood exactly why he had to say that..by the 30th minute of the class. I was wet! Sweating..and breathless to some extend. The room was so warm, hot to be exact..one tend to feel out of breath. The only good part is the sweating..never sweat so much for some time. AND I didn't have an extra shirt..so I couldn't shower! Made my way home in an extremely wet and smelly shirt.
A few people left the room after half an hour..I follow suit cos I was beginning to feel nauseous too...may be because I had a very early lunch - didnt want to have another blackout incident.
Nevertheless, I will definitely go for it again..it is a good relaxing but effective way to sweat it out.

Day Trip to Kampar
This time..since dad wasn't working..we manage to leave early at around 9am (although my initial intention was to leave at 8am).
Apart from food, we also visited Gua Tempurung. The scenery during very short drive to the place is breathtaking. We paid 6 bucks each to take a short 40 mins walk in the outer part of the cave. The more adventurous exploration can take up to 3 hours and one will end up wet & muddy. .Surprisingy, my camera phone managed to capture pretty decent shots from the inside of the cave.
Not too bad for a camera phone isn't it?
While waiting for food to digest, we visited the temple.
Duck thigh soup for brunch...
"Ngai chai ngok" - short houses...some of the older shop houses in Kampar
Overall, we had fun. My dad was really happy. We ended our visit in the evening. Finale was a packet of claypot chicken rice - to be enjoyed at home. Oh ya...if you want good 'kopi peng' - ice coffee...try Kampar. So far....it's the best I've ever had.

Children's Day
I used to love Children Day, Teachers Day..Sports Day...days where we do not have classes. We will bring goodies to school and party.
When was the last time you celebrated Children's Day?
Travelogue - from another perspective
We set off on the 4th of October
For a 3D/2N trip to make ourselves fatter
Heading up north to makan together
On a quest for great food and white coffee powder
Our journey began from Rawang to Ipoh
With one guy and three soh poh
Arrived safely but oredi past lunch time loh...
Problem solved by offering a chicken drumstick to the kopitiam ah soh!
We continued till we finally reached Lake Pedu, Kedah
Only to discover is was closed,"2 tahun sudah!!!"
Despite all the hassle and susah payah
All we can say is "$%%^$&@#&* celakah!!!"
Having driven thru landslides and roads that are muddy
Not to mention berliku-liku, very dark and scary
Didn't even get to see the lake, what a pity
We couldn't stop cursing the girl from Tourism Ministry!
So we headed back to Alor Star
Hari sudah malam, perut banyak lapar
Looking for bak kut teh or hokkien char
Ended up settling for satay, nasi goreng and telur dadar
The next morning we were rather lucky
Shopping at Padang Besar was ok but nothing fancy
And Gua Kelam was a pleasant discovery
But surely, the highlight was lunch with 'extra' gravy!!!
While we appreciate the aunty's hospitality
Suddenly uncle decided to be nice and friendly
Trying to make small talk and be chatty
Saying to our gal, "Oh! You are so cute and always smiley!!!"
To Penang we head as we continue our journey
Drove straight to Pasar Road, skipping Gurney
Assam laksa, char kueh teow, putu piring and prawn mee filling our tummy Followed by Lorong Baru's pork porridge and fried oyster, oh so yummy
After dinner we went to Batu Feringghi
Checked-in at a guest house, where someone lost her 'virginity' Dropped by at Lone Pine for a beer and to feed the mozzies Followed by wan 'than' mee and burgers at Café Tari
Finally the trip entered its last day
But our breakfast was definitely no child's play
Nasi kandar, roti salad and teh tarik at Burma Road's alleyway Then Macalister sisters' char kueh teow, yam cake but not nyonya kuey
Heading back to KL on the North-South highway
Heavy rain followed us home all the way
A safe return, we all hope and pray
Coz someone's rushing home to fly away!
A final food stop in the town of Bidor
It really felt like we have been eating door to door
Duck soup, siew pau and bull's horn we favoured for
We were so full; we almost fainted on the floor!
The trip was a filled with fun and laughter
And of course gossips and silly banter
Sharing our 'experiences' and 'encounters'
We are a bunch of weird characters
The first gal is extremely secretive
Whether it's her income or career objective
Always 'testing' men and being very selective
Favourite answer, "He's irrelevant" and then stop being responsive
Always thinks long and hard before giving any answer
Morning a babysitter, by night she turns 'sms typer'
And when she's tired reading messages later
She sleeps like hantu Kom Kom in a freezer!!!
The second girl was a virgin of sorts
Batu Caves, guest houses, horse riding and nasi kandar at Penang port A budding photographer who takes up yoga as a sport Also fancies 'checking out' other girls' bums while they sleep in shorts!!!
So for her we embarked on an "Ops Debunga"
Trying everything from Perlis to Tanjung Bungah
She loves the ostrich farm near the home of Pak Lah
Only thing she missed was walking on a sawah
The last girl is our cute, little China doll
Our treasurer, counting money for food, fuel and toll
She doesn't believe in morning showers at all
Whether it's winter, spring, summer or fall!!!
Her best achievement is not smoking for 72 hours
Such a sacrifice from this friend of ours
Giving up nicotine requires dedication and fervour
But she controlled her emotions with ice and lots of Jack Daniels flavour!!!
Finally, the driver is just another bloke
Short, fat, ugly and never been more broke
Discovered he's 'supposedly' interested in many girls, he almost choked Come on girls, is this some kind of joke???
He doesn't like girls who call themselves "missy"
Can't stand those who expect guys to have mind reading ability That's why he's still not seeing anyone seriously Everyone's saying to him, "You're taking an eternity!!!"
As the end comes to a trip that's so delicious
Still the driver continued to south and east, so adventurous
It is his very own way of saying adios
To his trusted and beloved Toyota Vios
The holiday was such an adventure
Interesting discoveries, plenty of leisure
Good company providing fun and pleasure
We'll have to do this again, that's for sure!

Travelling Up North (2)
Here's a selection of pictures that I thought are worth sharing. Am still kicking myself for not taking any pictures during the most adventurous part - driving up the spooky road to the deserted Lake Pedu and arriving & using toilets of the deserted resort. And of course no pictures of the deserted humongous Lake - it was very dark anyway.
did you know that Perlis is full of mountains..?
This is our late (almost missed) meal in Alor Setar after our adventure to Lake Pedu
More beautiful tress....
This is Padang Besar..nothing to shout about..the most upper North point of Pen. M'sia, nearest to the Thai border..suppose to have a great variety & mixture of Thai goods & culture.
A type of fruit that i have not seen before
There's an ostrich farm in Perlis on our way to Gua Kelam..this fella seems to be posing for me.
Beautiful rainforest outside of Gua Kelam, Perlis
Gua Kelam
Glimpse from outside..
So DARKKKKKKK.........There are lights and proper walkway..no worries..
I was actually..trying to capture some staglatite / stagmite
Not usre if it's man made..but it sure is beautiful..
Quite a long way in....
The cave is 'alive'..some parts has water flowing down..and the bottom of the walkway is actually a water path with very strong current
Out of the cave ..finally...
Penang...food glorious food...
No more food..
Our bedroom in Batu Ferigghi , Penang - RM50 per nite (i think..)
Bathroom is not attached..but it's pretty clean & comfortable
Got hang out area too...
Lastly..the delicious special burger at Tari Cafe.

Travelling Up North
That was our journey up north. Amazing? As Fafa put it.."everytime she wakes up from a nap, she is at a different place"
Our main intention was to eat as many types of good food we can get hold of. In addition, the driver of this trip has a personal mission to clock as much mileage or rather to stretch the journey to as far as he can. On top of that, we also wanted to visit a few places that we 'thought' was interesting...places that we will go once and will not go again - places like Lake Pedu & Perlis.

- (Yes..there's such a place! There is also a river called Sungai Mati)

- Left the dark & quiet & spooky Lake Pedu around 8+
- 9pm++ @ Alor Setar to have dinner
- Checked in to Grand Continental Hotel at 10+
- DAY 2
- Left Alor Setar next morning about 12 hours later

That's it. Will load some pics as soon as I get a chance.
Oh ya..the driver of the trip continued his journey down South followed by the East Coast.
