Random from the Gym

Gonna keep this short. I'm so sleepy and tired.  Had not been sleeping well last few nites but still went to the gym just now.  Gila.  I really couldn't decide, my body says I shoudn't go, my heart wanted to, so I left it to fate i.e. see if there's a parking lot :D Guess what...there was one..within seconds..I didn't even have to make any rounds, a car drove out just as I approached!  Fated ya?

It's alright I didn't push too hard..was ready to walk out if body really can't take it..surprisingly I felt quite refreshed towards the end.  JH told me recently that a friend of hers who was an outgoing, active and adventurous passed away suddenly.  Not sure what was the main cause of death.  Some say high blood. Some say over exercised.  Few years ago, a friend of mine passed away after a sudden heart attack.  He was only 35 at most.  Worked hard. Played hard.  But he didn't listen to his body.  He didn't stop when he was supposed to..was it fate or could he livelonger if he had gone to a doctor earlier?

Whatever it is..let's just do things moderately, regardless of whether it is food intake, exercise or work.  Listen to our body for signs and signals.  Rest when need to.  Exercise regularly but not to over exert. I'm no professional athlete but I had my fair share of injuries and problems. To my surprise, over the years of regular and consistent work out...my core muscles became stronger and aches and injuries become less.  Naturally, I learnt how to use proper muscle groups while doing different exercises...I suspect that's the reason why I'm more tired after each session these days.  It's also important to listen carefully and pay attention to  intructions from the instructors.. there must be reasons why they are trained to learn up and repeat the scripts over and over , class after class...nobody wants to be like a broken record for no valid reasons. :-)

On lighter note..haha...I've soem strange encounters at the gym lately.

First..as I told some of you before..there is this person whom I've only spoken to ...less than 5 times..suddenly became over friendly..asking me out and all.  yikes.  Don't think I wanna go into details here..my intention is not to talk in length about it anyway.  In fact.I shouldn't..but a second incident with a second person..happened yesterday and today..at another branch!  wth.

Last night, I was near my car about to cross over to head to the gym...when I suddenly heard a voice asking if I'm heading to a class..then I saw this person looking towards me with his window down while driving past me.  Looked familiar..but I swear I hadn;t spoken to this person before.  He must have mistaken me for someone else,,I thought.  Later..at the gym...I thought I saw this same person grining at me..while I was in another class.  I was 'busy'..so didn't pay attention,

Tonight - I met this same person again.  Confirm...this person was indeed speaking to me last night cos he spoke to me again :D..asking me about the same question as last night.  haha.  I didn't really respond..cos..I don't think I know him le.

Lol.

Next time..I wil respond properly lar.

P/S : Sorry..I'm all over the place..really very sleepy.

Nissan Intelligent Key - Is it worth it?

I've been blogging less these days, mainly because I'm running out of things to ramble..or rather I'm more selective now on what I share here.  Let's just say..nothing much is worth blogging about these days. Boring life.  Been blogging aimlessly for so many years, the blog and the blog owner matures and mindset changes...I guess.

I also noticed that the blog gets more attention lately from random readers searching for relevant information.  So..I gotta becareful and mindful of type and accuracy of information I put in here. It's also quite nice to see that some entries ended up useful to some.

Since..I get quite a lot of random visitors on the my 'relatively new car ..here'a another one :-)

\o/\o/\o/

When I was 'shopping' for a car, I was awed by the Nissan Latio Sports model ... both in terms of tangible luxuries as well as emotionally triggered indulgence.

Emotional:
...it was just so cool being in it. Compared to driving the alternative Latio Sedan or a Honda City or Toyota Vios..the Latio Sport just gave me a 'high' that I could not explain.  "I just wanna show off driving it" - this will be one statement to describe how I feel towards the car..emotionally.

Absolutely love cruising around in it. Enjoyed showing off it's Intelligent Key functions..which was working perfectly fine until recently. With it's supposedly Intelligent senses, I should not have to take out the remote from my bag nor pocket to unlock or start the car.

As some of you may have read..I lost one of my remote recently (..long story) and found out that it will cost close to a Thousand Ringgit to get a replacement..you can read more about the experience HERE.  So..if you are planning to get a new car with an intelligent key function..consider this point, ya?  Cool to have..but costly if you lose it.

Secondly, after using it for about 10 months now..the practicality issue comes into question.  Well..not that I had a choice..cos all Latio Sport comes together with this Intelligent thingy.  Is it worthwhile to pay more for such a function?  Well, I've been having some problems with the sensitivity.  When I first got it, all I had to do was just carry it with me in the bag or pocket..and I can unlock and start the car almost like ina snap of a finger. It was COOL!  But..I've been having some problems lately.  It's not so sensitive anymore.  The service advisor says that it's normal ..cos over time the frequency goes haywire and will need re-programming.  I was told that it had been re-programmed during the last service before CNY but I still have problems on and off.  It gets quite frustrating when you are so used to unlocking the car without having to dig for the remote...and when it didn't work..I had to dig and dig for the remote..give it a little shake to 'wake it up'.  Some times...I will be already sitting in the car..handbag just next to me and I couldn't turn the ignition knob cos key undetected!  It's also embarassing when I have passengers with me.

There you go..how would you feel when..you paid for intelligence and found out that it ain't so intelligent anymore?

I was told by unofficial sources that mobile phone signals may be one of the main causes.  So, I've been trying these few days to separate the two gadgets as far apart as could.  Seems to be working better..still too soon to be sure.  Will see.

CNY came and leaving

Life is slowly slipping into normal mode.
I went back to work today after seven days of break!

It wasn't too bad. I had no problem waking up as I slept early the nite before.
Traffic was good.  Not much work too, so I took the other half of the day off :D

No big deal.
CNY come CNY go.
We are ready to face the coming months..strong...lol.

Was joking with Mich during the trip about our brain fuctioning so abnormally slow while on holiday...which is so true.  There were like 10 typo errors in one of my work email today.  Last night I was super tired..was totally drained by 10pm..all I wanna do was sleep.  Most nights were tiring. ..actually daytime too. haha.  May be it was the hot weather.  In conclusion..it wasn't a very productive seven days.  Apart from the compulsory visitng..a couple of short visits to friend's ...physical & brain activities was more or less idle.

Laundry undone. Banking undone. Emails unread. Gym relatively irregular. Fitness level dipped drastically. Food intake - rubbish.  Health deteriotes. etc etc.

Hence, it gotta be a good thing to get back to work and life tunes back to normal routine.

Here's to a great Tiger year ahead.

Roar roar roar!
And..here are some pictures of CNY decorations from different malls around Klang Valley.

So far ..not so good

Forth day of CNY just ended. How's your CNY so far?

I bet most will agree that it has been an extremely hot year of the Tiger. So hot that..I was worried that my car will melt out there. And..being somewhat sick on and off didn't help at all. From a cold..to a sore throat + cough. But..no fever..just irritatingly uncomfortable, disrupting my favourite past time - snacking on CNY goodies and working out. Was at the gym yesterday..torturous -.- On the 2nd day, I had to deal with another additional problem. Some mysterious itchy bumps appeared on my thighs and legs all of a sudden. Still donno what's the cause.  I only had one coclusion....they only appear when I'm home.  Disappear when I leave home.

I'm allergic to my own home.

How's that!

AM scratching away while typing this.
May go see a doctor..if they appear again tomorrow.

Sick on CNY!

Can't believe I fell sick on the 1st day of CNY. Grrr..
Well, I shouldn't be that sick ...since I endured the entire day outdoor visitng a total four houses, still able to enjoy the food and only got home about an hour ago.  The extremely hot weather didn't help at all.

I feel somewhat worse now that I'm home.  To make things worse..the rashes are back :'(  In bed now..but can't sleep as yet..the runny nose got worse the moment I stepped into the house. why?  I had to drink alot of water to ease the dryness in my throat and nasal area..hence many trips to the toilet.  How to sleep like that?

But I must sleep..wanna get better to go to SY's place. Really don't wanna miss the annual gathering.

Sigh ..and I was planning to go back to the gym.  I have not worked out since ...Thursday!

Fingers crossed.

CNY 2010 Rambles

Howdy.
What a coincidence..I started off with 'Howdy' in last yr's CNY post too.

Hmm...so..it's CNY again?  How was it so far?
It's gonna be about the same ..jus like every other year.

Guess what I enjoy most about CNY eve ?  I just love opening my new favourite cookies jars and being the first to dig into them :D  Just did that :)

Anyway..as said..it has been and gonna be pretty much the same this year.  Madness in trying to to clean up around the house and then visiting relatives and friends etc and life sips back to normal mode after a few days. I was unwell last two days..so didn't manage to do much.  Luckily..today battery was fully re-charged. Managed to do quite a bit.  Satisfied with my results.  No perfect to my mother's standard..but can la.

Wait. Actually this year is a little different ~ firstly, I went on (and enjoyed) a short trip a week before, hence, had less time to do the usual stuff like cleaning, buying gifts, new clothes, etc.  Stress.  But..the world is made round..nothing is impossible..it's up to us to accept and mould the outcome differently, lol.

Not enough time to clean - clean less lor.  Zoom into obvious areas.  Hidden corners, under staircase gotta wait...till when? Next year probably :D The fan in my room for instance, in still unclean. No choice...was really unwell and the hot weather didn't help.  Gotta let go.

Not enough time to buy gifts - buy less lor.  I'm normally quite specific in choosing particular items for different aunts, cousins, etc..this year..no time..gotta change style lo.   Gotta make do with what I have in the house :-)

Was quite lucky with my own clothes though..hehe.  Managed to get two bottoms at Giordano for RM133..good deal.  Almost ended up with no tops..luckily I took my colleague's recommendation and dropped by Hartamas Shopping Centre to try my luck.  Quite a nice place ler. Small and condensed and not crowded.  They have many mid range boutiques too.  Guess what..I found 5 tops in just one shop!  Yay yay yay.

Oh ya..something strange happened at the gym the other day.  I'm still evaluating. Will see :D

Ok..it's very late.  Watching CJ7 while trying to ramble. It's not an easy stunt. It's already past 2am..don't want to be low batt again in the morning.

Till then..Happy Chinese New Year...and Happy Valentines :-)
P/S How do we wish on such an auspicious day?
Check out Kenny Sia's site for a hilarious answer :D

Foodie Trail in Jogja

I wonder if I'm boring you guys with too many Jogja related posts :D
No choice lor..there's just so much to share..I had to do it bit by bit.
Bear with me ya.

Ok...Food!
Overall..typical Jogja food are not to my taste, except for a few that I absolutely love and don't mind having again.  Unfortunately...none are available in Msia.

What's even more strange is that those that I loved ..aren't widely available in Jogja itself .

This ROTI BAKAR is my alltime favourite.
Available only at One stall at night nearby the Borobudur area but none found in Malioboro, the city centre.
Many variants available from Cheese to Chocolate to Banana, etc etc etc

Very skillfully prepared too. Cheeseeeeeee...

Yummmm................

I didn't manage to get the name of this.

It's similar to our peanut pancake...but these come in many variants:
Burger, Corn Pizza, Cheese, Chocolate, Banana, etc etc etc..

We stumbled upon the stall while searching for food in Malioboro.
We only saw one such stall in our two days wandering along the streets.

Beautiful presentation and delicious too.

Look at these.  How can one possibly resist?

Out of the hundreds of food stalls operating at night along Malioboro, only this stall caught our my eyes.
No idea what are these called..the filling should be made from gula melaka.  Very very very good.

This same stall also have other goodies.

Avocado Juice is like a staple drink here. An Avocado Float like this one costs less than RM10!
Taste - very original and nice!

Other types of  'not to bad' food  that we had were :

Special Murtabak is not too bad too. Something different from home.

Should be a popular food..since Kraft Cheddar's packaging specifically highlights it!

CFC (not KFC)!  haha.
Chicken's not too bad at all..really.

Indomie Goreng....we found out later that they used Mie Sedap instead.  Whatever happened to Indomie?  Cost cutting measure or Mie Sedap is now a better choice..we don't know.

Oh boy..this post is getting longer than expected. tsk tsk tsk..
We actually didn't have that much food.  It's not meant to be a food trip anyway.
But..check out the F&B collage :D

Let me explain....we had to search fairly hard for all the above cos we were not brave enough to try truly local food like this:

or this:

Other local stuff that we tried...

Local coffee ~ guess I don't have to say anything, see for yourself ;

Soto ayam ~ not too bad...but not my type of food tho.

This was on the table..suppose to go with the soto ayam ..we guessed..but we dare not touch :-P

Typical menu in Jogja

Home sweet home home..the sight of Cantonese food is so welcoming back home :D

Cute Tees from Jogja

Shopping wasn't very exciting in Jogja although Trish went frenzy buying from almost every single stall.  No doubt..things were dirt cheap.  A sweet little dress for baby gals can be as cheap as Rp8000..that's about RM2-3 Msian!  Leggings for baby gals are at least RM30 to 50 in Malaysia can be found at about Rp10,000 everywhere in Jogja.  Strangely..there aren't many clothing for baby boys.

There weren't much to buy for myself though ..but...found some cute, comfortable, interesting tees while browsing the one and only mall (in the likes of our ...Tropicana City).

Check out the prices!

Got this for Chris. And another different one for WK..(no picture)

Highlights of Yogyakarta

Hai ya..I really need to catch up on sleep.  I planned to sleep before midnite today...but...

Just lemme finish this post.

As most of you know may already knew..the two main attractions that is a must-go in Yogyakarta.

The Prambanan Temple..as you can see..listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Sadly..parts of the historical architecture were badly destroyed in the 2006 earthquake

Like this piece which fell off from the top of one of the temple..during the quake...fyi..the quake lasted less than a minute

I have so many good pics..I can't possibly post all of them..here's one that I randomly chose.

Another one showing a closer look of the amazing carving work

The second and most visited if none other than the Borobudur Temple..also listed as a World Heritage Site

Pics are not very nice..as it was very early..we signed up for the sunrise tour.  I was struggling and had no idea how to use the LX3 for night shots :D

Ended up having shots like this!

And this!

We didn't manage to witness the sunrise..it was very misty :(

Finally..I got the functions right. Nice colors eh?

So huge...

Oh ..I'm done!
Would love to write more..but I really need to rest.
Long day tomorrow..and have not been sleeping well last two days...over worked out a bit oso..didn't give body enough rest to recover from the trip.

Upcoming posts will be on ...may be sunset @ Parangtritis..(which I've already posted on FB ..hehe)...or may be I should talk about Streets..and Food??

Will see.

Nite!!
