Among the Great Apes with Michelle Yeoh

I really enjoyed this. CLosed to 50 mins long..but definitely worth watching.  Not sure if they've shown on on NatGeo yet..and I probably don't watch idiot box often enough to have noticed it while it was being aired.

If you have not seen it..enjoy!

By the way, the orang utans were cute but Datuk Michelle Yeoh's even cuter speaking Malay :P

Alf

Do you remember him?!

We stumbled upon an episode of Alf recently..it was hilarious!

I used to wonder if we had simpler minds during our younger days cos we used to enjoy simpler things more.
McD, KFC, a trip to Sungei Wang plaza, a trip to the cinema, watching TV3 ..all these simple things were our only entertainment..

As time pass, as I grow older..I find McD less tasty, KFC isn't as tasty as before, TV3 is crap now..

Until I saw Alf in TV recently...so so glad I still find him hilarious ..phew. At least I still have a sense of humor!

Don't believe? Watch this:

Me, Iphone Gaming

New game!

I'm not a game freak by the way, there were only two games installed in my phone and I only play Trade Nations regularly. Last weekend was a long weekend, so I was randomly browsing through the app store and found this.  Brothers in Arms 2 : Global Front Line

Centuries ago, I used to play games like Dome, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid, etc on PC or Play Station.  But with Iphone, the virtual pad / joystick stick with Gyroscope is so difficult :(

It's been days I've only got pass one sub-level.

Each retry only lasted me seconds..and I'd be dead again and again and again.

Unlike those days, where I could just strike re-start and attempt over and over until I get through..all these Iphone games..they make you 'wait'!

In this case, I have to wait 5 minutes before I can retry again.

Grrr... so frustrating and yet..I'm not giving up.

Thoughts from a Drama

Lately, I've been hooked on a TVB drama - 潛行狙擊 (Lives of Omission).   Been a long time since I got hooked to a HK drama.  This one is really good though.

AND I always liked Damian Lau :) This time, he played this intelligent and poised Chief Inspector Kung.  *heart* I see his role as the main pulse of the whole cast although technically he was only categorised under a supporting role.  The mains are none other than Tse Tin Wah (Laughing Sir)and Bosco (Michael).  I never liked these two but I must say they did very well here especially Tse Tin Wah! *heart too*

Was on episode 10 this morning, the initial part showed Chief Inspector Kung and Inspector Jodie (by Fala Chen) on a hiking session.  His main purpose was to help Jodie get over a mental trauma after killing a criminal.

Fala Chen played a serious and uptight character who is continuously aiming to do her best in life.  She tackled the hike up the hill just like how she lives her life - "must reach the top as quickly as I can, no matter how hard it is"  Hence, she focused all her energy on going upwards, probably missing out on enjoying the journey itself.

Kung's advice to her was..

Sometimes the most important part is not reaching the top.  It is how one reaches the top.. taking a slower pace, enjoying the process and journey, appreciating the surrounding may be even more rewarding.  The scenery at the top no doubt is good, but who says you can't enjoy an equally good if not better scenery when you stop to take a rest?

Good thoughts eh?

La la..la la la la

My current ring tone :D

smurfs theme song mp3 download

But I wish to find one that has this lyrics...like below:

TV Theme - The Smurfs lyrics

[Sung by Smurfs in unison]

La la la-la la la,
Sing a happy song.
La la la-la la la,
Smurf your whole day long.

[Whistled]

La la la-la la la

[Papa Smurf speaks]

Smurf along with me!

[Whistled]

La la la-la la la

[Papa Smurf speaks]

Simple as can be.

[Sung by Smurfs in unison]

Next time you're feeling blue just let a smile begin,
Happy things will come to you...

[Smurfette speaks]

So smurf yourself a grin!

[Ominous Gargamel music]

[Gargamel speaks]

Oooooo I hate Smurfs!

[Azrael meows]

[Gargamel speaks]

I'll get you, I'll get all of you if it's the last thing I ever do! hehehehe!

[Sung by Smurfs in unison]

La la la-la la la,
Now you know the tune,

[Harmony Smurf plays the "la la la-la la la" tune (barely) on his off-key trumpet]

[Sung by Smurfs in unison, accentuated for finale]

You'll be Smurfing soon!

Beauty in the World

This song brings a smile when we are down or when we become a little lost in life.

Pay attention to the lyrics..

When I look around, I see blue skies, I see butterflies for us...

There is beauty in the world..

So much beauty in the world

Always beauty in the world

Stop and smell the flowers

And lose it the sweet music and dance with me

There is beauty in the world, So much beauty in the world, Always beauty in the world

15Malaysia is a short film project. It consists of 15 short films made by 15 Malaysian filmmakers. These films not only deal with socio-political issues in Malaysia, they also feature some of the best-known faces in the country, including actors, musicians and top political leaders. You may think of them as funky little films made by 15 Malaysian voices for the people of Malaysia. Visit the site here >>http://15malaysia.com/

The 15 films will be release periodically. Five had been released so far. I've finally watched all.

Smile

Planned to sleep early but the repeat of MJ's memorial held me up. Ya ya..can see KT rolling her eyes at me now. She's been nagging me about not getting enough sleep and then bore her in the daytime about being tired and sleepy all day.

Ok ok..I will go to sleep after this.

According to Brooke Shields who gave the most sincere and touching eulogy in the memorial, MJ's favourite song is this:

Smile Though Your Heart is Aching

Can be somewhat slow compared to all the cool MJ tunes but the lyrics are very meaningful. I can understand why he liked it.

(Music by Charles "Charlie" Chaplin -- Lyrics by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons)

Smile tho' your heart is aching,
Smile even tho' it's breaking,
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by,
If you smile thro' your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow,
You'll see the sun come shin-ing thro' for you
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev-'ry trace of sadness,
Al -'tho a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time,
You must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying,
You'll find that life is still worth-while,
If you just smile...

Keep Smiling :)

To die on the same day as MJ

PIC SOURCE : http://news.yahoo.com and www.jeffooi.com

How can I not blog anything about the Death of MJ.

No one can deny that he is a Legend regardless of how weird or screwed up he was. Whatever it is..No One can repeat the Magic he had created for us.

I was either not born yet or still too young a baby when Elvis Presley and Bruce Lee died...but I'm pretty sure Michael Jackson's passing will be the Greatest Loss ever... not only to the entertainment industry but to the entire human race. Just like how he used to sing to us..

"Heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race.."

See..that's the Magic I'm talking about. I'm not even a fan of his..and yet I know his songs by heart! Beat it, Thriller, Bad, Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal...how many of you have had performed to his songs and dance in school concerts?

His Live in Bucharest concert is blasting on Malaysia's 8TV right now...I was very sleepy and struggling to write this post before the show started..now I am typing away :D Magic!

So..he died on Thursday morning, 25 June 2009.. So did Farrah Fawcett. Another person who created Magic on TV during the 70s era..it is Magical indeed to make such a huge impact in an era with such limited media access. We only had at most three national channels to watch then and about an hour or two of western TV series per day. Charlie's Angels happened to be one of the series that we were lucky enough to get to watch. I must admit Farrah wasn't as big as MJ but I do remember very clearly her iconic Farrah "hair".

Some people have condemned the media and public for side tracking Farrah's death relative to MJ's front page coverage. To me this is a non issue, really. Even if MJ did not die on the same day..do you think Farrah's passsing will be on front page?

Personally, I don't think either of them cared who gets the front page. After all both are dead and gone. For Farrah especially, after such a long fight and suffering with anal cancer..I'm sure she is somewhat relief that she is finally pain-free now. And ..hey..she gets to walk to heaven hand in hand with MJ!

Hmm...got me thinking..would I want to die on the same day as such an Icon?

While at the traffic light..

Can't believe I spent the last 2 hours searching for a good picture of a bored looking driver and the results ..NONE! &%$#@..

Need that to express the fact that I was stuck at a very long to turn green traffic light for about 5 mins and there was this guy next to me and he looked really really bored. Every other min I glanced at him and he had the same posture and look on...drooped shoulders..mouth half opened..eyes droopy.

lol!

Me..? I was enjoying my music lor.

May I present..my favourite song from BC40. Yupe..I finally have a fav soing from the new release. Hooray..

And..this...a very old song from Real Mc Coy, nothing to do with BC40 - just a song that I used to like during college days...have I not mentioned that I have very diversed interests :)

RPM and rambles

I skipped tai ci again. Sorry. Was just too tired after rpm. Again and again I wonder why I put myself to such torture..in fact I am beginning to think that rpm can 'kill' but..I am going again tomorrow :)

While I was preparing to shower..the deejay was playing some very old songs..brings back good memories.

I mean...really old..like this one:

Gasp right?! I must be like thirteen when I last heard this. Can't even remember who the heck is Baltimore. And Tarzan boy?? what kind of song is that?? But it's nice right?

There were more...Paula Abdul, Modern Talking, and god knows what else...nice but weird.
haha...

As usual...just rambling.

I am deeply Obsessed

Lisa Gerrard is considered a contralto vocalist. Her vocals have been variously described as rich, jaw-dropping, unique, deep, dark and mournful. Her range spans from contralto to mezzo-soprano on such songs as "The Host of Seraphim", "Elegy" and "Space Weaver". On the other songs "Sanvean" and "Sacrifice", Gerrard performs in the deep contralto range.
Gerrard sings many songs in a
language of her own invention, which she has developed since age twelve. She thinks of it as "speaking to God." Read more in Wikipedia - HERE

I Won't be Crying by Infernal

I changed my mind. My absolute favourite track from BC 39 is now this:

This is the conditioning track in BC 39. Song is nice..but the conditioning work out (esp the hover and side plank - hate these - but...it's all for the sake of a flatter tummy) ..err..makes you wanna cry!

Yes..fickle minded and if you follow my posts often enough..you will also notice that I have very diversed interest...from rock songs to love songs to techno songs :D Same goes to other things in life..from tai ci to body combat to rpm..to being a foodie and bloggie. Heee....

The weekend, food, friends & cars

Ok..nephew's gone. I'd better type as much as I can before he comes back. Was fighting for my life, I mean, the PC, for the past 1-2 hours with him hovering all over me. Tested my patience to the maxx man!

Before this..I was 'forced' to carry Angie (my 1.5 mth old niece) for about 15 mins ..longest record for me in carrying a newborn ha-ha..I think she enjoyed looking at me..didn't cry wor...jus kept on staring at me admiring my pretty face :D

I 'allocated' whole of today to spend time with Dad. Introduced my 'love' to him..the Nissan Latio Sport :D :D :D but unfortunately he prefers the Sedan wor. We also tested the Toyota Vios S version. Without much convincing..he, too, felt that the Latio is notably more comfortable to ride in..his exact words.."the other one..not very stable..very shaky". And when I told him that..the price difference is more than 10K..i.e. Latio price starts with a '9' while Vios starts with a '7' only...his reaction was .."kau mai kau lor'. As for me....this second test drive re-inforced my 'love'...Latio is indeed a better car no doubt. Well..based on it's price and specs..it is in a different league..so it is unfair for me to compare it against Vios...back to the apple vs. grape theory...sigh!

I must say that I had quite an elaborate weekend.....well..it was basically food and friends apart form the routine gym and tai ci-ing.

..starting from Friday afternoon/ evening...

..took the LRT from PJ to town...

had long lunch @ Shin Kee Beef Noodle and post lunch coffee@ with Aunt before going to the temple to pray tai-sui

...got stuck in the rain at Taman Jaya LRT station..thanks to FL who came to pick me up
...lepak-ed in Tropicana City Mall while waiting for others for dinner
...had Friday dinner at Pho Hoa

Never had so much beef in a day ..some more went to temple ...shame! And people are telling me that I shouldn't eat beef as a buddhist and an oxen. I don't usually fancy beef,..but these two places has excellent beef!
On a separate note, the experience on the LRT was somewhat 'refreshing' ..i can't remember when was the last time I rode on one. Must be years ago. I had the previlige to be on the same carriage with a group of deaf-mute young ladies. I got fascinated by the alternative communication manner....with sign language...they can communicate without shouting their lungs out. ... eventhough they were sitting in different corners of the carriage...such peace. And ..they use mobile phones too....the wonder of sms and mms!
Thirdly...walking around in town..can't help but feel unsecure. I was on alert all the timewatching over my shoulders..front, left and right. Had all my cash placed one pocket and mobile phone in another in case I am 'lucky' again to stumble upon a snatch thief

Saturday..was a relatively quiet day..with some housework, RPM and back to the house waiting for MM to visit. Had a relaxing tea and some snacks with MM and family at the Waterfront Desa Park City before they left for family dinner and me..simple dinner with dad before meeting up with WP for drinks at mamak at nite.
Sunday..taici /BC morning -- have gotten so used to this routine...think Sunday will not be the same without either one.
met up with SM and family at Westlake Restaurant @ Sunway Resort for lunch. It was a stressful meet..to be honest. Her baby was unwell...SM was also recovering from the flu she got from the baby. They had to take turns to attend to the poor sickly boy...I watched with my own eyes how a baby vomitted 'a fountain' of digested food ..ermm..so much for lunch. Nevertheless..at least we met!
In the evening...met Busybee and gals at Tea for Two @ Bangsar.

Ocassion - Busybee celebrating her freedom from confinement,
This is the 1st time I heard of a mom on maternity leave coming out to celebrate with friends after the full moon. Way to go babe..u r always my hero when it comes to motherhood.

Ooops..it's 10pm liao. I gotta get home to freshen up and meet my old pal..the DVD player. Astro programs really suck nowadays...I was so bored that I started on this drama series my aunt loaned to me - Forensic Heroes II -

had been the drawer for months...just didn't have time to start. I am hooked now. Kind of out-dated..but I like :) Loved the casts...handsome hunks, classy babes!
P/S: Think I sprained my ankle slightly while doing BC on Thursday...think it is slightly swollen but there isn't much pain though but then..remember my 'cacat' definition of pain?...will see how it is in next few days.

Mamma Mia-Seen it, Love it!

Simply Love it!
The opening was an eye opener for me as someone who knows nuts about musical (most of the songs are familiar tunes though). The powerful band, the cast and their strong vocals..simply world class.

The mid part after the intermission was a tad bit boring..(think I yawned twice).
The finale was simply spectacular.

Think I need not say much more. It's a #1 show in the universe. I am just so glad that I saw it. Worth every cent!

Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again?
My my, just how much Ive missed you
Yes, Ive been brokenhearted
Blue since the day we partedWhy, why did I ever let you go?
Mamma mia, now I really know,
My my, I could never let you go.

Gem Of Life

The latest TVB drama series "The Gem of Life" is so stylo. Since the show is about Pak Siu Yan (Lee Sze Kei) wanting to marry off her precious daughters to the wealthiest family, the whole show will have lots of scenes of lifestyle of the rich and famous. Sports cars...yachts...handsome men, beautiful ladies...*drool*

Naturally, the cast is represented by stylo actors/ actresses.

Leading role : Le Sze Kei - full of charisma - I like! Ada Choi - Beautiful yet Charismatic - I like too

Bowie Lam - Mature, Handsome & Charismatic!

Maggie Siu - liked her since I was a kid - charismatic, mature & poised!

Moses Chan & other hunks - Handsome! Source of Pictures :
