My colorful day

It was raining heavily.
Suddenly a huge loud thunder struck,the electrical box tripped and poofff everything else shut down abruptly.

It's quite a common affair, normally everything goes back to normal by pushing the electrical box switch back up.

But this time I smelled a very slight burning aroma.

Couldn't detect where the burn was.

I pushed the switch backup, all elctrical items are back up except the tv and maxis fibre modems. No tv and no Internet ....serious problem!

Once again I had to play electrical man.

Long story cut short, flow of event as follows:

1. Found out extension cord serving those gadgets has konked

2. Changed extension cord to test the gadgets one by one

3. Maxis modem working..hooray.

4. Plugged in adaptor which has tv and a decoder plugged in, and something went poooffff with some sparks!! And I went ... shitttt don't let it be the TV pleaseeee


5. Confirmed TV's safe ... phew...

6. astro ok..

7. Maxis phone ok

8. But tm modem for maxis not ok :( meaning fibre Internet down

Crap..


Called maxis, will have to wait for them to call back in 48 hrs to fix an appointment for visit.

Crap..

Come dinner time, I reached to switch on the light for the dining area ...and poooffff. Another spark

Wtf!

now the whole row of switches are out. Those are for the lights to living and dining area, the porch and the fan

Brother says its probably the fuse serving these points.

Crap..

Had dinner in the dark, managed to find out which fuse was it, replaced with brothers help.

Bulb of dining light burnt. Fan also stopped working.

As of now three items burnt.

And I'm without connection.
