Riding on...RPM

Monday is usually a day to recover from the weekend's activities. My muscles still ache from Friday's 'tennis' badminton style with AT and the usual weekend gym stuff but I just went for RPM instead of tai ci. I shoudn't, I know but I was somewhat blue and sad and irritated (triggered by combination of various matters), I just needed to sweat it out. RPM was the best solution. I read in a blog recently that RPM is good when you wanna be alone sweating it out and putting away your thoughts (at least for the 50 mins in class). He is quite right. Although the room may have 20 other members and an instructor giving out instructions and motivational cue..most of the time I am in my own world, well err..gasping for air and no chance to think about other matters...to be exact.
Sigh..I wonder if we will ever get use to sicknesses and eventually losses. Just as we were about to move on..another news hit us like a bullet train. Mid-life crisis it is.
I am saddened.

It's Monday Again

It's back to Monday. Groan.

Last week had been tough..may be I shall put it as eventful. Fire fighting, getting burnt, MJ's passing, more fire fighting, left with nothing to firefight..and hooray..let it burn to death :D

This shall be a better week!

Yea..I'm rambling again. Monday ma. So bored. After all..it's been some time since I last Rambled.

How was your weekend?

Mine was ok. Joined SY n AT for badminton on Friday. Had fun "playing tennis" badminton style with AT. Lol...don't bother trying to understand. It's just pointless fun. Dinner was at Pappa Rich, Kota Damansara.

Saturday was normal RPM routine and then met up with Fel and WK..at Kota Damansara (again!). We had Chilli Pan Mee and then Coffee at Pappa Rich (again!) Check this out :

..About 1 hour at Chilli Pan Mee from 12ish to 1ish

..Pappa Rich from 1ish to 2ish

..then went opposite shop (Sun Yin Loong) to have Ipoh white coffee before leaving the area around 3

..spent another 2 hours plus at The Curve before calling it a day

Ha-ha...we don't do this often by the way. Will be sick of each other if so. Just that we needed to

kill time..or rather Fel needed to kill time. That's what friends are for lor.

Net net..I ate alot la. Sunday also pretty much the same. Taici-Breakie alone-Bruch with Dad-Giant with Dad-Home-Snack-Snack-Gym-Dinner.

Now I feel like eating Wan Tan Mee for lunch. There's a nice wan tan mee in SS2.. Chow Yang area..same row as Kayu but the other end of the shop row.

I think I can take coffee already. Yeah!! However..didn't manage to buy from my favourite kopi shop this morning. Went round and round three times but couldn't find a parking spot :( Had to settle with 3in1 in the office instead. What a bummer. But then..I shall not let it spoil my day :) Lunch time soon..I will have my kopi then! See..pushing my luck..as usual.

Green Obsession

I just realised that I've been subconsciously obsessed with Green stuff.
Here all the greenies that I bought over the last six months..
Sisley and Nichii..bought sometime around CNY:

Think this was bought around March or April in a local boutique in D'sara Uptown:

Simple but extremely comfortable and cheap T bought in Plaza Damas back in May

and Adidas top from Adidas Warehouse Sale in recently.

These were most recent..from BBMaxx factory outlet in The Curve : an unbranded short pant and a North Face top

~~All Green~~
P/S: I've also been slowly revamping the wardrobe. Alot are somewhat over sized lar..*grin*

Most recent selection to be send to the the Jumble Station :

Meanwhile..these other stack categorised as slightly oversized to wear but too new to give away.

To die on the same day as MJ

PIC SOURCE : http://news.yahoo.com and www.jeffooi.com

How can I not blog anything about the Death of MJ.

No one can deny that he is a Legend regardless of how weird or screwed up he was. Whatever it is..No One can repeat the Magic he had created for us.

I was either not born yet or still too young a baby when Elvis Presley and Bruce Lee died...but I'm pretty sure Michael Jackson's passing will be the Greatest Loss ever... not only to the entertainment industry but to the entire human race. Just like how he used to sing to us..

"Heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race.."

See..that's the Magic I'm talking about. I'm not even a fan of his..and yet I know his songs by heart! Beat it, Thriller, Bad, Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal...how many of you have had performed to his songs and dance in school concerts?

His Live in Bucharest concert is blasting on Malaysia's 8TV right now...I was very sleepy and struggling to write this post before the show started..now I am typing away :D Magic!

So..he died on Thursday morning, 25 June 2009.. So did Farrah Fawcett. Another person who created Magic on TV during the 70s era..it is Magical indeed to make such a huge impact in an era with such limited media access. We only had at most three national channels to watch then and about an hour or two of western TV series per day. Charlie's Angels happened to be one of the series that we were lucky enough to get to watch. I must admit Farrah wasn't as big as MJ but I do remember very clearly her iconic Farrah "hair".

Some people have condemned the media and public for side tracking Farrah's death relative to MJ's front page coverage. To me this is a non issue, really. Even if MJ did not die on the same day..do you think Farrah's passsing will be on front page?

Personally, I don't think either of them cared who gets the front page. After all both are dead and gone. For Farrah especially, after such a long fight and suffering with anal cancer..I'm sure she is somewhat relief that she is finally pain-free now. And ..hey..she gets to walk to heaven hand in hand with MJ!

Hmm...got me thinking..would I want to die on the same day as such an Icon?

Toast & Coffee, Damansara Uptown

I was here :) this morning. I must say it is a pretty nice and quiet place for breakie. It's clean too. The food handlers looks clean (although they are foreigners) and they wear masks! Impressive.

Was told their signature ice coffee is good..I noticed that 4in5 customers ordered it. But..I opted for hot coffee instead...tasted normal only. Well..I've been having problems savoring coffee..so don't trust my judgement. I also had steam bread! See the pic..not very clear (taken with my basic phone)....what I wanna highlight is...it's huge and soft and fresh and tasty. Look at the generous amount of kaya and butter. You can't see the butter..cos it's all melted into the bread..yummm.

Coffee + Steam Bread = RM4.

Good deal! I recommend :)

See HERE for more pictures and review

P/S: I just sent my car for a make-over (three layer polishing). Will try to snap a pic and post it here IF the picture shows any significant difference in appearance :D

Fire fighting

Don't know what to write. But I do want to write. It has been drizzling since seven and surprisingly it feels kind of chilly. Been a long time since we felt cold here in KL. I am actually wearing double layer!

Now that my heartbeat is relatively more at peace and the TV is off..I shall try to write a bit. My Facebook status says S I G H. Somehow I've gotten used to putting down a little something everyday as an indication to my 'mental well being' for the day. My status hasn't been very healthy last few days ..haha. Been "fire fighting". Well..the magnitude of previous "fires" that I had come across in previous firms were probably 10 times bigger and tougher but the effect to the mind and soul is the same..frustration, disappointment, helplessness, etc. Basically, we know these things happen ocassionally...and we shouldn't take it too personally bla bla bla...but still. Especially for me...ever since I left the bigger firms..I fought less fires in recent years...which has it's good and bad.

Anyway..I shouldn't dwell ..guess I just have to soldier on and make the best out of things. It's part and parcel of life. After all..there are more to life eh?

hmm..what else. That's all I guess. Very sleepy.

Idiots are Smart

Three men: a philosopher, a mathematician and an idiot, were out
riding in the car when it crashed into a tree.

Before anyone knows it, the three men found themselves standing before
the Pearly Gates of Heaven, where St. Peter and the Devil were
standing nearby.

"Gentlemen," the Devil started, "Due to the fact that Heaven is
now overcrowded, therefore St Peter has agreed to limit the number of
people entering Heaven. If anyone of you can ask me a question
which I don't know or cannot answer, then you're worthy enough to go
to Heaven; if not, then you'll come with me to Hell."

The philosopher then stepped up, "OK, give me the most comprehensive
report on Socrates' teachings," With a snap of his finger, a stack of
paper appeared next to the Devil. The philosopher read it and
concluded it was correct. "Then, go to Hell!" With another
snap of his finger, the philosopher disappeared.

The mathematician then asked, "Give me the most complicated formula
you can ever think of!" With a snap of his finger, another stack of
paper appeared. The mathematician read it and reluctantly agreed it
was correct. "Then, go to Hell!" With another snap of his finger, the
mathematician disappeared too.

The idiot then stepped forward and said, "Bring me a chair!"
The Devil brought forward a chair. "Drill 7 holes on the seat." The
Devil did just that. The idiot then sat on the chair and let out a
very loud fart. Standing up, he asked, "Which hole did my fart come out
from?"

The Devil inspected the seat and said, "The third hole from the right."
"Wrong," said the idiot, "it's from my asshole."

The idiot went to Heaven

Quick one

Anyway..that's history..shouldn't rant about it. They were little anyway. A good work out at the gym works wonders in flushing out some tension. I'm not happy that I'm not liking the new releases ler. Tried the new RPM release just now...nehhh...didn't like it :(

Dang..dislike rpm 43, dislike BC 40...they will be doing these new releases for 3 weeks...how?

very sleepy ah...tu la..play somemore..blogging in the middle of the night.
Only slept around 2am.
just took a tiny bit of 3in1 coffee, still can't take too much (sigh)...don't see any effect as yet.

There are two male species here working in the same floor as me ..whom I don't mind saying Hi to. One is mr BMW whom I mentioned here many times before. There is this other one whom I have not mention before...not as good looking at mr BMW but..he is more friendly then the latter. You know..sometimes it just makes your day when you meet someone nice who takes the trouble to say HI.

And...I bumped into both of them together just now..ya...when I was like a zombie..coming out of the toilet. As usual..mr BMW was very cool..ignored me :( The other one was friendly as usual.

...hm..coffee has taken effect. Back to work.

Need that to express the fact that I was stuck at a very long to turn green traffic light for about 5 mins and there was this guy next to me and he looked really really bored. Every other min I glanced at him and he had the same posture and look on...drooped shoulders..mouth half opened..eyes droopy.

lol!

Me..? I was enjoying my music lor.

May I present..my favourite song from BC40. Yupe..I finally have a fav soing from the new release. Hooray..

I admit I like Fats

Don't you agree that food tastes nicer much nicer when it is Fat? As much as it is fattening and unhealthy..I just couldn't resist Fat.
But I tell you ah..people just happily assume that all girls are afraid of or dislike Fats. Grr..
Below a convesation with the hawker when I ordered roast pork rice for lunch today:
Me : Siew Yuk Fan
Hawker : Today siew yuk is a bit Fat ah..
Me : Moh siong kon (i.e. never mind) * in my mind -- fat is nicer*
He then took the roast pork that was hanging on dispaly and put it right in front of my face. I was like..wth!! Then..I saw what he meant...the pork was really really FAT! Haha...so fat that even the glutton in me daren't eat. His wife chipped in and said.."girls daren't eat fat wan la"
He recommended char siew (barbequed pork) instead...and I agreed.
But ..I ended being disappointed with the char siew. He gave me all lean meat :( All because I am a girl and I look somewhat slim *ahem*..they always assume that I don't like Fats. This has happened many times by the way...it becomes more obvious when eating with my dad when he will get juicy fatty parts and I will have to settle with dry lean parts o.0

BC 40 @ TF Taipan

Jus showered. I'd better write this before I get hot and grumpy again. Been trying to get into it for the last couple of hours, just couldn't find the right mood. Weather was hot and am a little under the weather cos of a flu and sore throat. My voice is kind of sexy now :)

Ok.back to the original purpose of this post.

I was at True Fitness, Taipan for the first time today. They were launching the quarter 2 releases there this time. Yup..another quarter coming to and end. Boy boy boy..what do we do when Time flies by so so quickly. I am close to being depressed watching days and months zooming pass me not waiting for me. Half a year! What have I done worthy in the past six months? Apart from getting the car..I can't think of anything else. Anyways..will leave that to another post..if I have the guts to revisit the subject matter.

Ok ok..back to TF and the new releases.

Firstly..this is my first time to TF Taipan in USJ. I've never been familiar with this part of town. Used to hang out in this area quite a bit when PPL was staying in USJ few years back but as always..I am useless at directions. Everything in USJ looks the same to me..regardless of whether it is USJ 1 or 20.. all looks the same to me.

I wasn't quite sure if I wanna take the trouble to make my way there just for body combat 40 - the latest release, oh well...since it's Saturday ..what the heck..I missed the last two launches..should make an effort this time. (RPM is too early at 9am...decided to give it a skip)

So..I asked PPL for a quick direction from Federal Highway. Her direction as follows:

exit federal highway after subang parade, keep to middle lane..u will then be going up a bridge on ur right..pass traffic light then go up another bridge. after the bridge, u will come to a traffic light..pass traffic light ..keep to extreme left..you will come to another traffic light..turn left (no need to pass traffic light)..u will come to another traffic light (MPSJ on ur left)..pass by another traffic light and keep to your right...drive slowly here and you will come to an exit on your right..you need to turn in and True Fitness is just on your left.

How's that :D To be honest...when I received that on Friday..all I saw was traffic light traffic light traffic light traffic light traffic light traffic light traffic light traffic light traffic light....and back then I was rushing some work stuff..no time to decipher the "traffic lights riddle" :D

So..I printed it out and chucked in my bag. By evening..I was too tired and lazy to go through it...opted to meet fafa and S H for dinner. Only got home past midnight...even more tired by then.. I just left the "traffic light riddle" in the passenger seat :p

Come morning...was very sluggish. Almost too lazy to go out. Donno what I was doing...I ended up leaving the house only at 1010am. BC launch is scheduled at 11am! Die die...have yet to crack the "traffic lights riddle" some more. And so..there I was speeding all the way on the LDP..not very fast lar..only around 110 - 120 (this car can go up to 140-160 ..but I have no guts to go that fast on city roads as yet). It started to rain when I reached the Sunway bridge about to exit to Federal Highway..damn..and I have not even looked at the directions. So..u can imagine what a dangerous situation I was driving in..rain...trying to memorise how many traffic lights I have to pass and which traffic lights I have to turn and not turn :D

Well...I got there safe and sound. Very accurate directions I must say.

My first impression of TF Taipan --- very very good. If I'm not mistaken this branch is older then the Jaya 33 branch but it gives such a fresh and new feel. Everything seems so new and sleek..from the entrance to the changing room to the equipments. Thumbs up! The Jaya 33 branch on the other hand...hmm..now that I have seen Taipan's...I must say that Jaya needs a revamp big time. Just walk in to both and you will see what I mean. I'm leaving out Hartamas cos it's quite old (the very 1st branch) so it is unfair to compare.
Link
So..once again...I like Taipan TF but unfortunately..it's too far for me to go there regularly.

Sh*t...this is getting too long. Have not even talk about the BC release.

BC 40 --- I don't think I like it ler. Sorry.

S H gave me a sneak preview about it last night..she had done it in California Fitness already..she seemed to like it though. I was Ecstatic about the previous BC39 when I wrote about it (here). I liked it soo much that I attended 5 classes in a row in a week! BC 40...hmm..somehow didn't give me that 'feel'. Not sure if it is because of the flu though. Will see ...after I attend a few more classes?

Songs wise..gosh..none left an impression wor. Well...it was fun to have Katy Perry's Hot n Cold in..have always loved this song ever since it was released months ago. And oh..think I like the Tubthumping track too...the "i get knocked down" song..brings back memories :D Can't remember when was it I heard this song ! Years ago must be. Fun track..kind of made the esquiva move not so punishing.

That's about it I guess. Event wise...great effort by the team as always. Well done.

Signing off. Throat's hurting more...darn.
Hope I can wake up tomorrow morning for tai chi. It's been a long time since I did some serious training :0

I wish...

Have you ever wished that you are doing something else..being somewhere else.
I'm sure you have.

Right now..or every once in a while...I wished...

..that I'm a professional athlete..where I can do what I have passion for..
..that I'm a movie director..where I can make full use of my creative skills (which I always thought is a hidden talent :D)

..that I'm a yoga instructor or some sort of fitness instructor where I can share the joy of fitness

..that I'm a Traveller

WHAT IS A TRAVELER?
A traveler has no plans for going home, therefore he or she will constantly dwell on ways to keep traveling, they will sacrifice most conveniences in exchange for one more day traveling. They will calculate how much everything cost in terms of how much to live one more day on the road. http://www.hobotraveler.com/travelervstourist.shtml

..blah blah blah

well..I'm sure they ..I mean athletes, travellers, movie director...etc etc..will have their own wishes and problems too. Nothing is perfect as long as we are still living as a human eh...

Sometimes I wish I am done living life..do you?

Day 1 - Cafein Detox

www.cartoonstock.com/directory/C/Coffee.asp

And I thought I will not blog at all today.
Blogging is an illness I tell you. It's only been a day but it feels like I've been away for ages. Since last night I had a 'block'...totally no idea ..what I want to blog about and why do I blog. I wonder if I will stop blogging eventually. Even now I am struggling. Had a bit of inspiration in the afternoon but was a bit busy with work. Yea...work is catching up. It's good and bad. Good in the sense that I still have a job :D Bad in the sense that I really need to buck up if not I will die standing. My brain's still floating around. Somewhere.
Oh..I've been off coffee today. Well I cheated a little...I added a tiny bit of 3in1 'fix' into my usual morning drink (mixture of Milo and oats). Managed to avoid coffee at lunch and stayed away through out the most difficult part of the day..you know..around 3-4pm. Was really really sleepy..and I forgot to bring dark chocolate. So you can imagine what a hard time I was going through! That's when I really needed distraction , hence, the 'image' at the beginning of this post. Haha.
But hey...I suceeded. Good rest for my dear stomach. I don't wish to be off coffee forever you know. So..please get well.
And..I have a cold too. Or is it a flu? What's the diff between a flu and a cold? Anyway...was sneezing a little in the morning but it got worse when I got to the office. The haze and bad air quality is of not much help too. Hope it won't will go away, got a client meetup tomorrow. Abit feverish on and off. Brrrr...
Think I should log off soon. Getting late and am hungry (again). Only had soup kueyy teow for lunch. Was hungry but didn't have apetite to eat anything heavy. Hungry but no apetite...is that a valid statement? How can one be hungry but no apetite?
Okie dokie..enough trash rambles. Ciao.

Coffee, Tea or Me

If you are link to me in Facebook you would have read my annoying status updates 'moaning' about Coffee, Tea and Me in the last few days. Basically..my stomach had not been taking cafein well and it frustrates me. Life can be meaningless without cafein! Imagine..in an hour from now I will start feeling sleepy....and I can't take coffee. It will be a disaster right. Ya..I am a drama queen when it comes to this. Since yesterday..I couldn't finish even half of the morning mug. Yesterday even worse..2 sips was all it needed..to have my stomach burning and piercing away. Today is slightly better cause itoday's coffee is more milk based...but still. By 12pm ..I felt as if there's a drill trying to drill a hole on my upper abdomen through to the chest bone. Grr...

I'm not sure if it is heartburn, GERD or gastritis or something else. Tried searching for some info just now while I was having my sandwich..but all were too confusing. Gave up.

Whatever it is..I think the obvious solution is to stop taking coffee for a while.

P/S: I can't take tea too. Also health related.

About H1N1 - What can we do?

W.H.O has this to say :

What can I do to protect myself from catching influenza A(H1N1)?
The main route of transmission of the new influenza A(H1N1) virus seems to be similar to seasonal influenza, via droplets that are expelled by speaking, sneezing or coughing.

You can prevent getting infected by avoiding close contact with people who show influenza-like symptoms (trying to maintain a distance of about 1 metre if possible) and taking the following measures:

  • avoid touching your mouth and nose;
  • clean hands thoroughly with soap and water,
  • or cleanse them with an alcohol-based hand rub on a regular basis (especially if touching the mouth and nose, or surfaces that are potentially contaminated);
  • avoid close contact with people who might be ill;
  • reduce the time spent in crowded settings if possible;
  • improve airflow in your living space by opening windows;
  • practise good health habits including adequate sleep, eating nutritious food, and keeping physically active.

Malaysia's Health Minister has this to say :

“During such moments of medical crisis, it is okay to not shake hands. People can instead bow their heads or place a right hand on the upper left chest to show respect,”

Blowing Bubble at The Apartment

Posted this in facebook a while ago. Might as well post here as well.
Nowadays I can't decide which I wanna use..Facebook or here ~.~

I found this at the Jaya 33 and remembered that WK was excited to see them on sale in Tai O, HK. So I bought a packet (with 6 sticks). Paid $1 for it. Ok rite?

I bet you..kids nowadays won't get a chance to play with these things. Lead la. Poison la. Betul kan?

Anyway...I brought it out to play with Unc Ray and the gals while we were at lunch at The Apartment ,The Curve. Played for a while only lar but it was quite fun. Blew until face turned green..those were Ray's words when I was trying to make my bubble bigger :D

Anyway..food at The Apartment is not bad. Love the environment too. Very relaxing. Coffee was a bit too strong for me though. Wonder how much was the bill. I left in a hurry as I had to go for badminton. Ate too much and didn't have enough time to digest before the game or may be Gan was simply too good today.. Played such a lousy game. I 'm limping now :(

Wednesday Ramblings - ll

It was still Wednesday when I started this post. So..title is stil valid. Just an update on what I ended up doing in the evening.

SL Wong : Facebook is the greatest invention ever. I just had dinner with an old pal I hv not met for 18 yrs all becos of FB ..yea...54 minutes ago

The above (my Facebook status) explains it all.

I was suddenly dead tired when I logged off at about 6.30pm. RPM seemed to be a best choice to wond down but it was then too late to catch the 7pm RPM class at Hartamas but I saw that there was another 7pm class at Jaya which is very nearby. However..the instructor...errmm...I see his name oso 'tak larat' ..body weak liao, very tough class. So I skipped.

At that point in time I didn't feel like doing anything else actually but as I was walking towards the car still mulling on whether I should go shopping and meet up with Z my long lost school pal ...she texted to say that she's done with work and ready to meet!

So..off I went :)

It was great catching up.

Sweet memories.

Now I know her fullname :D

Wednesday Rambling

Ahem...

So sleepy..after lunch. Am here for some distraction..so that I don't fall asleep. What was for lunch today? I decided to have Siew Yuk (roast pork) Rice ..it's very cheap, only $3.20 but there was only like 5 small pieces of pork. Knowing me...not enough la. Sulked for a while and added another two pieces of curry pork that cost me another $2 :) Kopi -o wasn't nice oso. That's why I am so sleepy now. Not ooomph enough. Total lunch cost = $6.30 : still cheaper than yesterday's so called McD value meal that wasn't even nice nor healthy!

What a Quiet day. Nothing's much happening in cyber space. No trash scribbling in FB. No activity here in elife. Oh..there were some email exchanges this morning to arrange a lunch with Unc Ray this Sunday.

Wednesday - free & easy day for me. I still have not decided what I wanna do. Shall I go shopping? It's so hot..it will be nice to take a dip at the pool. Or shall I go for rpm? Or just do nothing..be a good gal..and go home! If I go shopping..was thinking I can meet up with an old classmate in Gardens but she hasn't reply my sms.

Choices. Choices. Choices.

Let's see..what I want deep inside:

Shopping -- ever so therapeutic..but I don't really have anything urgent to buy..and the traffic to MV is always so bad..parking will be a problem since it's school holidays. Actually..i've been itching to get a decent casual sporty medium size back pack. Useless ..i know..but I want.

Swimming -- so much trouble & effort changing into swim suit and then swim 5 laps..tired liao.

Rpm -- already did last night....as usual..close to collapsing...but then don't mind another go today :)

Home -- will probably end up in front of tv..then getting bored and logon to cyber again. No good at all.

There you go..outcome..in preference ranking order..from most preferred to least preferred:

RPM>Shopping>Swimming>Home

On a separate note...it's confirmed. I strained the ankle again. sigh. Guess I have to make more conscious effort to protect it if I wanna continue exercising rigorously. I was hoping that there will be a day where I don't have to rely on ankle guard or taping ..just like before ma. Was asking the doctor..if it is normal (or healthy) to rely on taping. His answer was -- "as long as you continue doing these exercises..you have to protect" *roll eyes*

Anyway....a roll of tape costs $15 and each roll lasts for about a month...that is if I use it only when I attend BC. Now ..I think I have to use it for badminton too. So..it will probably lasts less than a month. There's another option which I didn't consider before this ....that is to get a proper guard which cost about $200. I have not seen what it is like and how different it is from those available in the pharmacy. Will talk to doc.

Boring ankle talk...just wanted to note it down.

By the way..I am still Mad! that you people refuse to respond to my Bus question!

Shall I laff or faint?

Source : The Star
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is surprised to learn that English is not a “must pass” subject for SPM and wants public feedback on the matter.

The Education Minister said it was a revelation to him as he had always thought that it was a prerequisite since students had to learn English in school.

Let's bet..tomorrow he will say.."that's not what I meant"

How's life so far?

Phew..end of Monday. How did your day go?

Someone mentioned to me about..what's our purpose in everyday life? all we do is ..go to work every morning, work work work, wait for end day, celebrate the end day, then repeat again the following day and rejoice every Friday.

Is that what life is all about?

Honestly, I'm afraid so. My dad will probably say this is 'sik pao moh yeh jo" i.e. stomach full..nothing better to do..in his younger days..all he worries about is how to earn enough money to raise the family.

I told her..that's why I try to inject some 'fun' into the evenings or weekends..as much as I can. It's probably a chicken and egg thing..or it's timing, I don't know. Few years back..I used to spend 12-13 hours in the office. Then another 1-2 hours having late meals with colleagues to wind down. Almost daily. By the time we reached home..it's past midnite most of the time..just enough ttime to shower and hit the sack and then it's morning again. We had a saying for those nights.."the moment the light is off...the brain switches off to la-la land even before the head hits the pillow" Well..we still play..like alternate weekends..we will go for morning walks at places like Kiara, FRIM or a game of squash or badminton...etc. Those were the days.

When I switched firm...my life took a drastic turn. I would be off-work before the sunset. I think for at least the first 12 months..I was fumbling about..looking for activities to fill up those extra hours. Was thinking about taking language classes...etc.etc. Then I got into tai ci.

And ..i can't remember...what happened in between tai ci...and when I got crazy over body combat at the gym.

It's history anyway...

and so..my life now is...wake up to work, work, try to work, eat, work, try to work, hit the gym or tai ci, and then home..still got a bit of time to blog and FB before heading to bed. On days when I don't have tai ci or gym..it can be anything free and easy :) Just like today. Tai chi instructors' out of country..we are supose to train by ourselves..I opted out :p Thought of rushing home to get gym gear..too rush..and better rest as my ankle and some muscles still hurt slightly. That's why I am here..pondering over Life!

So..I really don't know whether it's meant to be this way. I mean..is it because of I changed job or is it because my priorities in life changed?

Yesterday Gan asked me why I still work out when my ankle is prone to being injured again. My immediate response was..if I don't do what I enjoy now..I may not be able to do so in future wor. I will be so old and it will be too late. I already wasted last 10 years 'working' and thought I was 'physically unwell to do any rigorous activities'.

Anyway..what's next? Or rather..what else about life?

While pondering about this topic ..I looked up for some inspirational quotes about Life and found these:

Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens...by Carl Jung
(hmm..i still can't see what;s inside my heart)

Life is a process. We are a process. The universe is a process...by Anne Wilson Schaef
(ya..we just roll on and on...with the process..and see what the process leads us to?)

How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives..by Annie Dillard
(Are we doing enough?)

Love life and life will love you back. Love people and they will love you back...by Arthur Rubinstein
(yes...love and be loved)

Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love, to work, to play, and to look up at the stars....by Henry Van Dyke
(yes..Thank You..I am grateful for that)

We can discover this meaning in life in three different ways: (1) by doing a deed; (2) by experiencing a value; and (3) by suffering...Victor Frankl
(I shall try to do more deeds...I don't understand what it means by 'experiencing a value' ...and er..not too much suffering pleaseeeee..)

phew...what an entry...so deep.
Happy Pondering!

Where my brain

Did you have a great weekend? I did.

So much so that..I think I left my brain somewhere along the way.

As posted in previous entry, we had a lil adventure on Saturday going to Banting to try out the infamous Beggar Chicken. Apart from the food, it's just so nice to hang out leisurely with great nice good friends. Aiming to have another longer trip out of town (or country) with this bunch before everyone starts marrying off and starting families. The last major trip we had was Nepal..loooong time ago. Then to Bali. That's about it. So...'air asia ambassador' you know who you are..waiting for your cue..hehehehe.

Back to my weekend...apart from Banting, the weekend was pretty much my normal 'lepak' do's. Spent time with dad and the four leggeds. Getting a dose of my favourite body combat class. Missed RPM because of Banting...that means I only did one RPM class last week :( Wanted to go for this morning's class but couldn't wake up and my body was aching all over because of badminton. I had a good game yesterday. Surprisingly I enjoyed playing Singles..for once. My skills had been so rusty after laying off for so long..finally..some came back yesterday. Gan joked --"finally I see some glimpse of a school team player now" Still..my old joints are too old liao..twisted the same weak ankle a little bit while landing (too heavy :p) - ouch.

Was sitting around for about 10 mins staring at my work station..wondering what I need to do..Lost!

Then.. I got this via email from Busybee:

Which way is the bus below traveling? To the left or to the right?

Primary school children were shown this picture and asked the same question.

90% of them gave the correct answer..what's yours?

Chilli Pan Mee - now in SS2

You must try this. Originated in Batu Road. Superb chilli pan mee. They have since branched out to Kota Damansara and Kepong. Heard it is now in USJ too. Guesss what...it's in SS2 now!

Same row as Kayu Nasi Kandar (Chow Yang area). Very convenient ..wooo...

Kepong near my home. SS2 near my work place.

My only problem is they don't have a good cuppa. Hmm..

Beggar Chicken @ Bukit Jugra, Banting

I couldn't decide if I should share the photos on Facebook, here or both. Thought I should do both but now that I'm done with Facebook, I'm so so tired liao. The hot weather is not helping too.

Lemme try to do it differently here. Less pictures but more 'real' description of our little adventure.

The above is a map from Google to point out exactly where Banting is. As you can see from the map, it is actually located in Selangor, towards the South from Kuala Lumpur, after Klang and nearer to Pulau Carey. I'm explaining this for a reason. Here's what happened prior to our journey :

Me to Felicia: Do you know where is Banting?

Felicia : Ya.

Me: Where is it ah?

Felicia : I've forgotten

(she always does this..'take us round the garden'..it's like saying.."i know you..but i've also forgotten who are you")

Me to Fafa & Trish : Hey..does anyone know where is Banting? Perak? Pahang?North? South?

Fafa (the organiser of the outing) : Don't know wor..I only have the direction from Kesas.

Trish : Should be in Selangor la. Somewhere after Klang.

So...our reservation was at 3pm. We left Kepong around 1.30pm...without knowing where exactly Banting is. Only info we had is a paragraph of direction Fafa copied from a magazine. And nobody bothered to look up for more info :D

Although direction says to go via Kesas, we decided to be smart and headed towards Klang via NKVE. I made it clear from the begining that my function is only to drive....no idea where Kesas nor NKVE is.

Soon..we were nearing Klang...and there were no still no sign of any Banting word on the signboards. We got abit worried and made a split second decision to detour back to Kesas via Shah Alam. LOL!

To cut it short...we did arrive to Banting eventually...via Kesas..quite clumsily :D

How's the chicken?
As mentioned in Facebook:
I wouldn't say it is excellent but worth trying at least once. At least now I know where Banting is and Bukit Jugra has quite nice peaceful surrounding. I just found out from the net that it is a paragliding site!

Cost of meal RM114.40 (4 pax) for one whole beggar chicken, herbal soup made from another whole chicken, one whole stuff fish and a plate of vege.

To prove that we were served a whole chicken..here's a foot, bishop's nose and the neck.

The beggar chicken is marinated with lot's of herbs and cooked under hot charcoal ashes. Apparently, this was how beggars cook their chicken in the olden days.

Other dishes on the menu, cooked the same way are duck and pork knuckle.

Below showing "beggar" cooks @ work

Other dishes - herbal chicken soup & stuffed fish.

The total bill.
