What an 'eventful' day I had .....at the hospital -.-
The morning started with a bang...about 30 mins earlier than my usual wakey time when I heard Dad calling me from downstairs. Hearing his voice at this hour the most effective alarm I ever need simply because he is normally out 'working' at that hour.
So..I spring out of bed..physically awake but mentally..half asleep.
He fell from his bike...
This must have been the Nth time....sigh.. ..
Early part of the morning was all about ... . helping him to put on some medication..evaluate the injuries...help him call his supplier..figure out what is best...clinic, hospital or chinese tit tar.
About an hour or so..the pain became more intense he was desperate to see a doc..any doc! Decision was to first..see a nearest GP..to ease the pain..then most probably GP would recommend..if it is necessary to go to a specialist..
GP suspected a fracture...wrote a reference to see a Othopedic.
It worried me to see him in so much pain.
Thank goodness..the pain was less intense when the nurse at the Orthopedic Clinic gave him a sling to support the arm while we endure the long wait for x-ray to be done, waited again for the films, waited again to see the doc...
Long story cut short...no regrets for going to a proper doctor. The experienced Doc was quick to notice that he had a posterior dislocation and not a fracture. Suggested to try fixing it while putting him under sedation instead of going under anaesthesia which will require admission and more expenses.
And..it was a success!. Longer wait..at the A&E , preparation to sedate..wait for doc to 'appear' to perform the procedure ...2nd x-ray to confirm the dislocation is back 'in-order'...wait for doc to review the results..wait for doc to discharge.
I nearly passed out ...due to hunger...went for desperate carbo fix at the cafe.
RM15.50 with a latte....normal tasting..a bit soggy...but..good enough to keep me on my feet! |
All's good now. It was like magic...he felt so much less pain immediately when he regained consciousness.
Cleared to go home around 3ish. Went for a late lunch..he ate faster and more than me...means..he is well...despite the arm in the sling.
Thank you Dr Gan.
How am I? I need to go for my 'maintenance' tomorrow : /
