KL-Tualang-Kampar-Ipoh-Bidor-KL in 10 hours

I've always wanted to capture some good sunset shots along the North South Highway stretch near Ipoh. Love the mountains & valley sceneries especially in the evenings. Since I wasn't driving during this trip I had more opportunities to capture some shots along the North South Highway.

It wasn't easy with the car moving, other cars on the opposite side, trees, road dividers, etc. Basically the chances of getting a good shot without stopping is Nil. Was so surprise to see that this particular one turned out quite well indeed.

What a fluke shot :D

...back to the trip. Good one as usual.

Had my all time favourite Kampar Ice Coffee

And this..the world's best Kaya Puff!
We almost didn't get to have this..there's a story I must share :D

When we arrived at the Kedai Biskut Kampar ..we were told that there were no ready stocks and were told to place our orders in advance ..."may be we will get ours at 7pm or so" it was only 5 at that time! Everybody else were like ordering in 50s and 60s! We only wanted at most 10 wor..pai seh to leave order la.

Think I'd better stop promoting them -.-
We were not prepared to hang around such a small town doing nothing for 2 hours lor..there's really nothing to do apart from eating and having coffee. We can have coffee but eat...only have space for kaya puff :p
We wandered off to look see what other alternatives we have nearby ....while walking back we saw our Dad..standing very closely by the kaya puff counter. We half guessed that he was pushing his luck begging asking the gal to give to him a few.

Well..he said that someone reduced order ..so he quickly asked to take them . Doesn't matter what he did or say.....we got seven puffs!!! Love him for that. This is not the first time.

When we were in the Tanjung Tualang restaurant waiting for our lunch to arrive...we ordered ABC (mixed shaved iced) from a hawker nearby. It seemed so popular..we also ordered la. But were told that we will have to wait. Ya..wait wait wait. Waited until we finished lunch ..dessert never came. So I walked over to the stall to check on it. The stall was manned by an entire family..about 3 sons with parents. So busy. Loads of people eating and many other waiting to take away. Some wanted like 15 packets of different drinks. Oh they have many types ...I actually couldn't make out what they were. Should have snapped a pic hor?!

Anyway..I reminded the chap about our drinks that didn't arrive and stood there waiting. waited and waited an waited. Then Dad came along. Waited for a while..and strut his stuff. Well..he basically asked them again and again and again..quite loudly. Compared to his normal loudness...I would consider this as quite soft...but probably to these small town folks..it's quite loud indeed :D.

And we got our drinks lor. Donno what's so great about it actually..hehe.

The main highlight of the trip is of course Tanjung Tualang to try their infamous Fresh Water Prawns.

A traditional Indian barber shop that doesn't have any customers is right next to the restaurant
We opted for Kong Kee a smaller restaurant away from all the large ones on the main street. The larger ones were crowded , too popular since they were recommended in food reviews & TV programmes.

1 kg of PRAWNS!
RM56

Worth it??Soon Hock (Marble Goby)
RM63!

Was it worth it? Well..the prawns were really yummy. But pricey wor. Will I go again...? Not sure..may be not...since I'm not a great fan of prawns.
